How it is calculated

The monthly gain adds up the time freed (hours saved, multiplied by the hourly cost and by the share of that time that has real value), the errors avoided, the other costs removed and, if you enter it, the margin on extra revenue. Ramp-up is gradual, and the recurring cost is always deducted.

The maximum budget is the sum of monthly net gains over the chosen period: beyond it, the project does not pay for itself within that time. Time freed does not mean job cuts: it is capacity you reinvest. If a project is not profitable, the calculator tells you.
